Victoria House Nursery is set in a domestic property in a residential area close to many local amenities. The house has been adapted so that it is child friendly and suitable for purpose. Children are accommodated by age. Babies are accommodated in their own building. Over two’s and pre-school children are on separate levels within the main building floors.
The Nursery is laid out and equipped to ensure the children have the opportunity for activities, quiet, rest and an area for eating.

Baby wing
The Baby Wing at Victoria House looks after children from birth to two years old. It is registered for 6 children and has a high child to staff ratio. It is a beautifully decorated self-contained unit with a safe outside play area for the sole use of the children in the unit. It is a home from home with all the appropriate facilities; highchairs, cots, changing area and kitchen area.

Toddler floor
Our Toddler floor is well equipped with age appropriate toys, games and equipment. Dressing up, role play and crafts are firm favourites here!

Pre-school
Our large, warm and inviting classroom is a central focus for many activities in the nursery. A wonderful place for singing, reading stories and welcoming visitors.

Garden room
We have a large Garden Room, where the children take part in simple cooking activities, and in making their own snacks. These activities help contribute to children’s health, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them.

Garden
We have a large garden, and a large field within the nursery grounds which means that there is plenty of space for outdoor activities for the children. We have a physical development programme in place and outdoor sports and games are generously woven in to our daily routines. Children have opportunities to grow flowers and vegetables, enjoy digging and exploring in the garden environment as well as experiencing the different effects of weather (wellingtons, raincoats and sunscreen permitting).

Outdoor Play facilities
We have two separate outdoor play areas. One for the children aged under two and one for the older children, which has outdoor toilets. Both are secure, safe and well equipped. Here children can enjoy outdoor activities such as bikes, climbing frame and ball skills.

We have a covered outdoor classroom with a variety of equipment that allows the children to play outdoors in all weathers. Many parents mentioned in their feedback questionnaires that our outdoor play area is one of the best things about our service.
